New EV Subsidies in Greece for 2026

The Greek government has officially announced the third phase of the popular "Kinoumai Ilektronika" subsidy program. This new iteration brings significant changes to how citizens and businesses can transition to electric mobility.

Key Highlights of the 2026 Program

  1. Increased Subsidy Amount: The maximum subsidy for private individuals has been raised to €12,000 (up from €8,000 in previous years).
  2. Scrapping Bonus: A higher scrap value of €2,500 is now offered for retiring an internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicle older than 10 years.
  3. Young Drivers: An additional €1,500 bonus is available for drivers under 29 years old.
  4. Charger Installation: Support for home charger installation has been increased to €1,000.

Why Now?

Greece is aiming to have at least 30% of all new car registrations be electric by 2030. With the current infrastructure projects expanding rapidly across the National Highway system (E75 and E65), range anxiety is becoming a thing of the past.

"This program is more than just a financial incentive; it is a clear commitment to a cleaner, quieter, and more sustainable future for Greek cities." — Ministry of Environment & Energy

Eligible Models
